PSI Exams


PSI exams have become mandatory for companies looking for probable employees who psychologically competent to take on the professions they are applying for. These days, many regulatory agencies are also relying on the tests for other professional licenses.

Formerly known as Psychological Services Inc., many state regulatory agencies choose PSI Services to provide testing for real estate and other professional licenses.

Talent assessment

As a company, PSI provides talent assessment and management solutions to employers in the private sector as well as various government agencies. In addition to their main line, they also offer courses and job preparation for job-seekers.

Assessment tests

PSI has five pre-employment assessment tests, with each one covering a different aspect of a candidate’s professional skills.

Its true-to-life assessments are situational judgment tests that place candidates, in a virtual sense, in real-life work scenarios. With the placement of candidates in various work situations, the employers can assess and predict a candidate’s success for a particular job position.

This is their main PSI feature and tool used in the recruitment process.

Ability assessments

This one is used to measure a candidate’s professional employment tests, including industrial skill tests.

When combined, these tests measure and assess candidates in language skills, reading comprehension, quantitative problem solving, charts and graphs, mechanical principles, form checking, coding and others.

Personality and behavior

PSI uses ViewPoint for their personality and behavioral assessments to identify a candidate’s job attitudes and behaviors. Some areas that are assessed are team building, business continuity, sales force, and customer satisfaction.

Further, there are six ViewPoint sub-assessments: WorkView, ServiceView, TenureView, SalesView, ProfessionalView, and General Personality Survey.

Public safety/civil service

PSI administers public safety and civil service assessments for various departments in the US. PSI public safety and civil service tests are widely use because they assess and highlight candidates who demonstrate superior ability to perform in an intense, high-stakes atmosphere.

It specializes in industry-designated tests for career fields like firefighter, insurance, dental, plumbing, cosmetology, construction and real estate.

Computer skills

As more professions and job opportunities begin to use various computer features, more employers are efficiently assessing a candidate’s computer skills. Whether its Chrome, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer, or Digital Literacy, you will meet PSI’s computer skills tests in your recruitment process.

Services and features

To date, PSI offers six distinct features and services for its customers ad job-seeking candidates. They have assessment tests (5) that measures professional skills. There is also
video interviewing for answers to pre-selected behavioral questions.

 Situational simulations simulate the workplace scenarios to assess how candidates perform.  Leadership services employers can identify leadership potential and strengths. In consulting services, employers are allowed talent management solutions.

The test administration services give employers the opportunity to require their candidates to take pre-employment assessments either proctored “online” or un-proctored “on demand”.

PSI operates its own online test administration platform named ATLAS. They have ATLAS centers which are basically PSI test centers for companies who wish to administer their tests in a more secured environment. (The ATLAS platform only works on PC computers and not on Mac.)
